Core Responsibility
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with government financial rules and regulations. 1. Financial Record Management Maintaining cash books, ledgers, and financial registers. Recording daily receipts and expenditures accurately. Ensuring proper documentation of all financial transactions. 2. Budget & Expenditure Control Assisting in preparation of annual budget estimates. Monitoring expenditure against allocated budget. Ensuring that expenditures comply with financial rules. 3. Salary & Allowances Processing Preparing salary bills of officers and staff. Processing allowances, TA/DA claims, and other admissible payments. Maintaining updated payroll records. 4. Court Deposits & Refunds Managing judicial deposits, fines, and other court-related receipts. Processing refunds and payments as per court orders. Maintaining proper registers of deposits and withdrawals. 5. Audit & Compliance Preparing records for internal and external audits. Responding to audit objections and ensuring rectification. Ensuring compliance with Government and High Court financial instructions. 6. Procurement & Stock Supervision Assisting in financial matters related to procurement. Verifying bills and payment vouchers. Maintaining stock and expenditure registers. 7. Reporting & Coordination Preparing monthly and annual financial statements. Submitting financial reports to the District & Sessions Judge. Coordinating with Treasury and relevant government departments. 8. Confidentiality & Integrity Maintaining strict confidentiality of financial records. Ensuring transparency, honesty, and accountability in all financial matters.
